Mellis Walks

The illustrated map below was produced in 2001 by Mellis Parish Council as part of a VILLAGE WALKS project. The artwork was donated by a then Mellis resident, artist and illustrator "Annie Bonson". Annie included images of several of the large old farmhouses, old houses, the church, the school, the pub and the Memorial Hall in the map.

Starting from the Memorial Hall Car park there are two circular walks each taking about 40-50 minutes. One heads north via White House Farm returning to Mellis via Dam Lane.  The other heads south along The Carnser towards St Mary's Church before crossing the common and heading towards Thornham returning to Mellis via Earlsford Road. The walks can easily be linked for a longer outing.

A freestanding copy of the map stands in the Memorial Hall car park.

Please follow the COUNTRYSIDE CODE at all times and enjoy your walk.
